LiBRARY & ARCHIVES
We have many resources to help you with your research, including a Library collection and an Archives collection
The Library collection contains our print and electronic resources, while the Archives contain our unpublished manuscripts and photographs. Each collection has a separate catalogue, although you can switch between the two once you start your search by using the left-hand menu.
Our library is located at 2/379 Kent Street Sydney. This is where you will find our library resources, including all our computer systems and access to a wide range of websites.

The collections cover both Australian and overseas (especially England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland) and include published family histories, local history, parish registers, BDM records and cemetery volumes.
We provide access to the major commercial sites such as Ancestry, FindMyPast, The Genealogist, My Heritage, British Newspaper Archives, Discovery (National Archives UK) Biographical Database of Australia and much more as well as having more than 2200 electronic databases covering both Australian and overseas resources.
If you are looking for help with research or just starting out you should visit the Library first.
The Archives are located at Richmond Villa, 120 Kent Street Millers Point. This is where you will find our unpublished material covering both Australia and overseas. Family history and biographical research notes, photographs, family trees, certificates and other documents are held in this collection.
You can use the online MIDAS catalogue to search the Archives and request items for viewing at Richmond Villa when open.
SEARCH THE CATALOGUESThere are online catalogues to both collections and these are available to both members and non-members. Logged in members will see more information and have greater functionality for both catalogues. Some digital content on the MIDAS catalogue (including transcriptions of NSW parish registers and cemetery records) is only available to members.
