Join us for a compelling online conference exploring the journeys of migrants through history, with a special focus on the ships that carried them across oceans.

"The Migrant’s Path: Stories of Passage and Ships" delves into the stories of those who travelled to Australia in search of opportunity, refuge, or a fresh start. We’ll explore the role of maritime travel in shaping family histories, uncovering migration routes, and understanding the challenges faced by passengers. Speakers include: Ian Waller on how to find births and deaths at sea; Nicholas Dixon on18th and 19th century British mariners; Christine Yeats will cover 20th century arrivals to Australia and naturalisation records; Lisa Apfel on 'The Sydney Scheme'; David Hearn on ships in and out of Liverpool, England; Martin Spencer from the State Library of NSW on their new acquisition of a journal from the Lady Shore - and more to be announced!

In addition, we will be asking our speakers to help with brick walls delegates are having with their family history research into maritime journeys.
