technical support for sag cds

The SAG published a range of cemetery transcription, passenger lists, NSW Pubs & Publicans and AGCI (Australasian Genealogical Computer Index) CDs between 2002 and 2016. While some of this data has now been licensed to online providers, the CDs often provide useful functionality which is not replicated online. They can still be installed and used on newer operating systems by following the instructions below.

This is applicable to these CDs:

Rookwood Cemetery Transcriptions (published 2002)
Macquarie Park Cemetery Transcriptions (published 2003)
Waverley & South Head Cemetery Transcriptions (published 2005)
Pubs and Publicans in the County of Cumberland NSW to 1850 (2007)
1901 Census of County Clare Ireland (published 2008)
Free Passengers to NSW 1826-1837 (published 2009)
              Arrivals & Departures NSW 1788-1825 (published 2011)
AGCI (Australasian Genealogical Computer Index Volumes 1-4) (published 2004 – 2011)
Pubs and Publicans in NSW 1860-1900 (published 2016)

Although developed to run on earlier versions of Windows, they can still be used on PCs running Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. You need to install the CD anywhere other than within the Program Files folder tree.

This is easy to do by following these instructions:

                    • start your CD installation as normal
                    • when you're prompted to approve installing the CD search program into, for example, C:\Program Files\SAG\Rookwood Cemetery Transcriptions, type in an alternate directory, not part of the Program Files tree. For instance, C:\SAG\Rookwood Cemetery Transcriptions.
                    • complete the installation in your nominated directory and test that your installation works
