| Vanessa Cassin Vanessa is a learning and development professional with extensive experience in providing training and assessment in the trustee industry, both as an in-house trainer for the NSW Trustee & Guardian and as an assessor for Western Sydney University the College’s Registered Training Organisation. Vanessa is also a genealogist who has been researching her own family history for over 20 years Vanessa has developed SAG's Beginners Practical Introduction to Family History. |
| Melissa Hulbert Melissa is the current and first female President of the Society of Australian Genealogists (SAG). She is a regular presenter on various astronomy and family history topics including DNA. Melissa’s background is in astronomy and physics and also serves on the Education and Finance committees for the Society and is a regular presenter on various topics. Mel has developed SAG's Beginners Introduction to DNA and Share your family stories with PowerPoint course. |
| Danielle Lautrec Danielle Lautrec retired from her joint roles as SAG Education and Archives Officer in July 2020. Danielle’s interests are the methodology of historical research, 18th and early 19th century Sydney and British Jamaican genealogy. She has degrees in history, archaeology, environmental studies and town planning. | Betty O'Neill Betty O’Neill is a Sydney-based writer and teacher with an eclectic range of degrees, most recently (2018) a Doctorate in Creative Arts and is a university Lecturer in Creative Intelligence and Innovation. She wrote her doctoral thesis on her quest to understand her father, a World War II Polish resistance fighter who survived four years of imprisonment in Auschwitz and Gusen. She has published and presented conference papers and facilitated workshops in Australia and overseas on writing family history, the Cold War, migration and the domestic space as an archive. Published by Ventura Press, The Other Side of Absence is her debut memoir. Betty has developed the SAG's Writing Family History Workshop. Andrew Redfern Andrew began studying his family history in the mid 1980s, with a particular interest in telling the stories of his ancestors, and not just finding their birth and death dates, Andrew employs technology in creative ways to share the lives of his ancestors with friends and family. Andrew has been developing a one name study of the surname Redfern. Andrew has developed courses including: Powerful Visual Presentations- Mastering Diagrams and Charts in PowerPoint, Family History and Artificial Intelligence, Digital Skills for Family Historians and our Get Online Weeks. |
 | Veronica Williams Veronica is an enthusiastic genealogist with a special interest in genetic research. She has several brick wall projects in her own genealogy that she is solving with DNA and enjoys volunteering her time to help others with their research. Veronica has played a significant leadership role in the development of the Society's DNA research groups and associated activities. Veronica has developed the course Analysing your DNA results using Chromosome Analysis. |
| Christine Woodlands Family history was Christine’s “retirement project” but the power of genetic genealogy has become her focus! A former public servant, she has qualifications in commerce and law. Using genetic genealogy and traditional research, Christine’s broken down “brick walls” in her own family and enjoys working with others to solve their “DNA dilemmas”. Christine’s a members of the Society of Australian Genealogists and regularly presents “First Look at AncestryDNA”. In 2020, she developed the four module fifteen session “Analysing your AncestryDNA Results” program. She shares her approach to participants in Mossie’s Musings (https://mossiesmusings.blogspot.com). Christine uses social media and blogs to share the stories of her family. She’s the co-presenter of “Introduction to Blogger – Telling your family stories” for the Society. |
