Topic: That's Entertainment!

We’re looking at the many and varied forms of entertainment enjoyed by our Colonial ancestors at our next meeting.

Newspapers were littered with all the activities our folk enjoyed from horse racing to boxing kangaroos to amateur theatrical productions to musical concerts to sport.

We’d be delighted to hear from you if you have a family story about the entertainments your forebears pursued.

Were they boxers? Did they win the ‘Best of’ competition at the fair? Were they rough rider champions.

Maybe your ancestor was a jockey? A juggler? A sportsman? An actor? Or maybe an opera singer?

Enthral us with tales of your family’s pastimes by contributing your story during our meeting in November.
