Emma Bulfin and Sonia Martinez from Fareloom will take you through the process of collecting and curating family recipes to make a family cookbook. They will then show you how to go about publishing these in a cookbook in either hardcopy or digital format.

Session 1: Saturday 18 September 10.00am - 11.30am

Additionally the presenters are available for questions/discussion after the session from 11.30am-12.00pm

Session 1 will discuss why family cookbooks are important, what do we learn about ourselves with family recipes and stories, learn how to gather food stories through experiences and memories, how to interview someone about their food story, what role traditions have played in the formation of memories and experiences and collecting recipes and working with formatting challenges.

Session 2: Saturday 25 September 10.00am-11.30am

Additionally the presenters are available for questions/discussion after the session from 11.30am-12.00pm

Session 2 will cover how to record and organise our information and what format to use for publishing a cookbook that will be suitable for your situation: electronic, on line, or physical formats. We will provide you some ideas, sources and templates for this process prior to this session.

NOTE: These sessions are designed to be interactive. Whilst they will be recorded attendees will obtain the most value from the workshop sessions if they attend live.

If you have a family recipe that you would like to receive specific assistance with please email the recipe in advance to education@sag.org.au with the words "Fareloom workshop recipe" in the subject line.
