In this course, you will learn how to search for things on the internet using search engines such as Google. The course covers how to search for websites, using bookmarks and saving images and other files.

Topics include:

1.      Benefits of search engines
2.      Website addresses and bookmarks
3.      Searching websites
4.      Saving images and files
5.      Shortcuts, tips and tricks for searching

Delivered in person by Andrew Redfern, a trained educational IT specialist, this course will be highly practical and hands on, paced appropriately to the members of the group. 

Attendees will be using the computers in the Family History Library and Research Centre for this course.  Attendees may also bring their own device (laptop, tablet or phone) to apply the skills learned towards the end of the session (time permitted).

This course is FREE, being delivered as part of the BeConnected Program, an Australian government initiative committed to increasing the confidence, skills and online safety of older Australians.
