Parish registers are a vital resource for tracing your family tree before 1837, when civil registration of births, marriages and deaths in England and Wales was introduced. Ancestry ProGenealogists’ Celia Heritage will help you plunge the hidden depths of these records, looking at their strengths and weaknesses, and notably the many mistakes and omissions that occur. Additionally, Celia will look at ways to tackle these challenges by using parish registers in tandem with other associated records, such as non-conformist registers, parish chest records and apprenticeship records as well as marriage bonds and allegations to help you extend your tree and help find out more about your ancestors and what their lives were actually like.

This webinar is open to members and non-members.
