Are you working with your DNA results at the chromosome level and considering using the GDAT database tool to manage your DNA information?  This webinar will provide an overview of the tool and some of the great features for analysis.

It is a complex tool, for a complex topic.  The session is aimed at using the software, it will not cover the principles of chromosome analysis which are required to use the tool.

Pre-requisite Knowledge for using GDAT:

An understanding of autosomal DNA analysis techniques and terminology and can apply them in practice, in particular:

  • To be able to differentiate between shared matches and matches with shared segments;
  • To understand the implications of chromosomes having two sides;
  • Can recognise when DNA segments are ‘overlapping’ and when they are ‘triangulated’;
  • Is aware of triangulation concepts and how to identify Triangulated Groups at each DNA site.

Please Note:

To get the most out of the session, it is recommended that you have:

  • Downloaded the software;
  • Set up at least one profile; and
  • Added some match and segment data - GEDmatch is recommended as the easiest to work with initially.
  • GDAT User Guide is available at - https://www.getgdat.com/
