Our new 'members-only' series, Family History Connect, will feature themed sessions focused on a particular area of genealogy research.

Sessions are generally facilitated by one of the Society’s wonderful volunteers. These sessions are open to all current members of the Society.

Finding musicians in your family tree

If someone uncovers a "musician" in their family tree, the ancestor could have been anything from a superstar performer, a major composer or influential muso to a local piano teacher, or a trombone player or singer in a colliery brass band or choir. This Family History Connect session, hosted by SAG member Patrice Connelly, will talk through the types of musicians one might find in the course of their family history research.

Patrice will also guide participants through the readily available online resources where one might find out information about mainly about professional musicians, but also music hall entertainers.

If you are a member of the Society and would like to facilitate a session on your area of interest either in person or online, please get in touch.

This Family History Connect session is being held on Zoom. Please note this session will not be recorded.

This is a members only event. Bookings are essential for this session.
