Topic: Ahoy: All ABoard for Shipping Records

How and when did your ancestors arrive in New Zealand?

Maybe they arrived and left for Australia?

This session will focus on helping you find those elusive shipping records.

Guest presenter Melanie Middleton, Vice Chairperson of the NZSG, will talk about the NZSG landmark Shipping Collection project which aims to find everything on every ship that came to or left New Zealand up to and including 1920, including coastal shipping around the ports of New Zealand. Yes, that includes passenger lists and they will all be in one place!

There will also be an overview of current places to look and stories and tips from members about their research in using passenger lists.

If you would like to share a story or have a brick question, please send to admin@sag.org.au by Saturday 7 March.

Skill level: All

Convenor: Pauline Weeks
