Post War Migration: New Lives, New Land

In the decades following the Second World War, Australia experienced one of the most significant waves of migration in its history. Millions of people arrived from Europe and beyond, reshaping families, communities and the nation itself. For many researchers, tracing these journeys opens the door to rich stories of resilience, adaptation and identity.

This mini-conference from the Society of Australian Genealogists explores the records, resources and research strategies that can help uncover the lives of post-war migrants and their families. Through a series of expert presentations, participants will discover how to locate passenger arrivals, naturalisation records, displaced persons documentation, and community sources that illuminate the migrant experience.
