This is an expression of interest (EoI) only to assist us to gauge the level of demand for a possible course in 2026.

The Society of Australian Genealogists (SAG), in association with VicGUM, is considering running a hands-on Family Tree Maker (FTM) workshop program for beginner and intermediate users in Sydney, to be held sometime between March and September 2026.

This practical series will teach participants how to set up and use key FTM features to help you produce a family history book. The program is planned as six workshops, delivered monthly over six months, with each workshop running for three hours. Participants will be given homework activities to complete between sessions.

To take part, you’ll need to bring your own laptop with Family Tree Maker installed, and it’s preferable that you already have a tree containing 200–300 people. Workshop pricing will depend on the number of participants.

If you’re interested, please register here in the first instance, including your full name and contact details.
